Together against loneliness
Bringing older people and young volunteers together to make soup.
Grandma’s Soup is on a mission to fight loneliness among older people by bringing generations together through soup.
Through the Grandma’s Soup Foundation, we organise weekly Cooking Days, Soup-at-Home Visits and special events where younger and older people cook together, share stories and build real connections.
Our Student Board in London received the Volunteer Group of the Year Award at the LSE Volunteer Awards (2026).
Our Chair, Blanche Boomla, was recognised as Highly Commended for the Volunteer of the Year Award.
Bringing older people and young volunteers together to make soup.
Made with fresh vegetables and herbs, based on traditional recipes from Grandma.
We’re committed to using leftover veggies at all our cooking events, to help reduce food waste.
Every week our team of volunteers provide older people with precious moments of fun and connection, which boost mental and physical health. The more volunteers we get, the more people we can help. Simple!
