Chicken with fresh vegetables

Grandma Carla cooked a whole lot of soup for her children and her husband, who was captain of a ship. She transformed a traditional chicken soup into something deliciously unique, via her Surinamese roots. A hearty broth is simmered all night long, using organic chicken bones with thyme, oregano, carrot, celery and white onion. The chicken is then grilled tenderly in the oven with the garnish of the soup (celery, onions, celery leaves).  Everything is then thrown together in a large pan to create a delicious chicken soup.
